The Community Development Office, part of the City of Dover’s Planning and Inspections Department, works to improve neighborhoods and expand opportunities for residents—particularly those with
low and moderate incomes. Using federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, the office supports programs that strengthen communities, improve housing conditions, and address
important local needs. Through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and service providers, the Community Development Office helps fund programs that:
Provide essential services to low- and moderate-income residents
Support housing rehabilitation programs that improve living conditions
Assist emergency shelters that serve individuals experiencing homelessness
Fund community development projects carried out by local nonprofit organizations
These efforts help ensure that Dover remains a safe, healthy, and vibrant community for all residents.
