SPECIAL MEETING

                                                                                                            September 29th, 1937

            A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was called to order by Vice-Mayor Frear and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. Hinkle, Millman, Frear and Downes.

            The meeting was called for the purpose of considering the transfer of approximately one-half acre of ground from the eastern end of North Street, this ground to be conveyed to the State of Delaware for the purpose of locating a new State building.

            Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Vane, the City Solicitor was instructed to prepare a deed for approximately one-half acre of ground about 95 feet north of the State owned land east of Legislative Street, a distance of approximately200 feet, then at right angles to St. Jones’ River. The mayor was authorized to convey this land to the State of Delaware with the understanding that the State pave, curb and gutter all that section of North Street from the present paving to said land.

            Council adjourned at 12 o’clock noon, having met at 11:30 A. M.
