SPECIAL MEETING
March 18th, 1937
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 18th day of march, 1937. The meeting was called to roder by mayor Woodford and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. Hinkle, Vane, Downes, Frear, LeFevre, Burton and Millman.
The meeting was called for the purpose of deciding whether to accept the proposition of the Robbins Hose Company and appropriate $3500 in addition to the old truck for the purpose of purchasing a new aerial ladder truck. Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Downes, the Council accepted their proposition and voted to appropriate $3500 in addition to the old truck.
Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Hinkle, the City Manager was instructed to confer with Mr. W.W. Mack to see if something could be done regarding the hedge at the corner of William Street and Governors Avenue belonging to Mr. W.D. Denney. This hedge is so close to the right-of-way that it obstructs the view of traffic when approaching Governors Avenue.
TAX RATE FOR 1937
Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Vane, the City tax rate for 1937 was set at 80¢ per $100.
