REGULAR MEETING

December 9, 1930

The meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor, W. D. Clements at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Messrs. Clark, Hinkle, Keith, Burton, & Frear.

MINUTES

Upon motion of Messrs. Burton & Clark the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

The attached report of the City Manager was accepted as read, ordered placed in the minutes upon motion of Messrs. Keith & Clark. Upon motion of Messrs. Keith & Clark the City Clerk was instructed to draw an order on the Treasurer to the amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) on December 15th for retiring 5% bonds due on that date.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Upon motion of Messrs. Keith & Hinkle the following attached financial report of the City Manager, after being read by the Clerk, was accepted and ordered placed in the minutes.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

The Alderman’s Report for the month of November and fines collected amounting to $161.00 with 13 arrests, check for same being turned over to the City Manager. Upon motion of Messrs. Burton & Clark this report was ordered accepted and filed.

COMMITTEES

Mr. John C. Hopkins and Attorney Earle W. Willey appeared before Council regarding the closing of the East end of Delaware Ave. from Kent Ave. to the Branch, in behalf of the Murphy Home. They were advised that Council had no objections to same but it would have to go through the regular form in order to execute transfer.

Mr. J. L. B. Hutchinson and Contractor Frank Minner appeared before Council regarding violation of the Chimney Construction Ordinance by Contractor Minner on Wyoming Ave. After some discussion the Council decided that in as much as this house was completed and ready for occupancy they would pass this inspection this time; but in the future there would be no excuse for violation of ordinances. This motion was passed upon motion of Messrs.. Keith & Burton.
