SPECIAL MEETING
January 22, 1926
Purpose of Meeting to receive the bids for the new Ornamental Street Lighting System on Loockerman.
Members present, President Woodford, Messrs. Downes, LeFevre, Burton, Frear, Clements, Keith, Hinkle & Clark.
Council acting on motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Keith authorized the President of Council to appoint a committee of four consisting of one member and the President of City Council, one member of the Rotary Club, one member of the Chamber of Commerce and a Citizenship at large to go to Washington D. C. and confer with the Federal Authorities on the New Post Office project.
Bids were received as follows;
Greenwood Engineering Co., $10,000, 10,500, 11,125, 11,388.
W. V. Pangborne Co., $11,985.
J. F. Buchanan & Co., $15,678.
Central Station Equipment Co., $10,446.
McHugh Electric Co., $11,500.06, 11,568.62.
E. L. Jones & Co., $14,216, 13,987.
Due to the misinterpretation of the specifications, Council acting on motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Keith rejected all bids and ordered new specifications drawn and mailed not later than Saturday Jan. 23, 1926 to all bidders.
There being no further business Council adjourned.
