SPECIAL MEETING

April 16, 1925

Council met in Special Session at 7:30 P. M., with Mayor Woodford, and Messrs. Burton, Downes, Frear, Clark, LeFevre, Hinkle, Clements and Keith present.

Mr. Boyer, president of the Robbins Hose Company, came before Council in regard to the purchase by the Town of new pumping unit, and stated that it was the unanimous opinion of all the members of the Company that a smaller pumping unit than the one originally considered would give the service required, and that the difference in cost would allow the purchase of a hook and ladder unit also. After some discussion in regard to the matter, Council on motion of Messrs. Keith and Clark voted to purchase a 350-gallon Seagraves pumping unit and a hook and ladder unit (the latter to be satisfactory to the inspection of a committee) at a cost of twelve thousand dollars ($12,000.00) the Town to pay eleven thousand dollars ($11,000.00) of this amount, the Hose Company the remainder, and the Town to hold title of the apparatus.

Mayor Woodfrod appointed committee of Messrs. Frear, Hinkle, and Clements for the purpose of getting estimate of cost of putting wires underground and erecting light standards on Loockerman Street.

On motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Downes, Council accepted the town assessment for the year 1925, fixed the assessor’s salary at $250.00, and instructed the President of Council to appoint three members to sit as a Board of Appeal at the Council Chamber on Monday, May 4th.

The following committee was appointed: Messrs. Hinkle, Keith and Clements.

                                                                                    Signed:
