ATTACHMENT

Whereas,   It is the desire of Robbins Hose Company to furnish to the community the best possible fire service, and

Whereas,   The usefulness of the Kelly-Springfield apparatus now in our possession is limited, and

Whereas,   Recently the necessity of overhauling and repairing the Ahrens-Fox pumping unit forced us to rely entirely on the Kelly-Springfield unit which is not equipped with pumps, and

Whereas,   City Council in order to provide what they deemed adequate protection was forced to secure from Milford, Delaware, a pumping unit and driver until such time as repairs to the Ahrens-Fox unit could be completed, and

Whereas,   Robbins Hose Company believes that it is of vital importance that at least one pumping unit be available for use at all times, therefore

Whereas,   Robbins Hose Company having in mind the good of the community and the welfare of its citizens, does respectfully request that City Council provide ways and means to secure for the use of Robbins Hose Company a fire fighting unit conforming to the following general specifications:

Pump to have a capacity of not less than 500 gallons per minute.

To be equipped with a “booster system” with a tank of 100 gallon capacity or more.

To be equipped throughout with pneumatic tires.

And be it Further Resolved -  That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Mayor and Council of the City of Dover.
