SPECIAL PARKS, RECREATION, AND

COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT

A Special Parks, Recreation, and Community Enhancement Committee meeting was held on May 30, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. with Chairman Ruane presiding. Members present were Mrs. Russell, Mr. McGlumphy, Mr. Lewis, and Mrs. Horsey.

AGENDA ADDITIONS/DELETIONS

Mr. McGlumphy moved for approval of the agenda, seconded by Mrs. Russell and unanimously carried.

Proposed Ordinance - Chapter 22 - Buildings and Building Regulations, Article XII - Vacant Buildings

During their Meeting of April 11, 2006, members were provided a report on the status of the draft vacant building ordinance. At that time, staff was requested to prepare an ordinance, in first reading format, to be presented to the committee for consideration.

During the committee meeting of May 30, 2006, Ms. Janelle Cornwell, City Planner, advised members that various interested parties had reviewed the draft ordinance and provided input regarding the ordinance. Ms. Cornwell reviewed the comments and suggestions received from the various groups.

Staff recommended adoption of the proposed Ordinance amendment to Chapter 22 - Buildings and Building Regulations of the Dover Code.

Mr. McGlumphy moved to recommend approval of staff's recommendation (Attachment #1), seconded by Mrs. Russell and unanimously carried.

Mrs. Russell moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Lewis and unanimously carried.
