SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

A Special Council Meeting was held on January 16, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Council President Carey presiding. Council members present were Mr. Ritter, Mr. Pitts, Mrs. Williams, Mr. Truitt, Mr. McGlumphy, Mr. Speed, and Mr. Ruane. Mr. Salters was absent.

Council staff members present were Mr. Cooper, Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Green, and Deputy City Solicitor Pepper.

APPOINTMENT OF CITY PLANNER

Mr. Truitt moved for the appointment of Randy L. Jorgenson to serve as Director of Planning and Inspections for the City of Dover to be effective Tuesday, January 21, 2003, with a compensation package as presented during the executive session held on January 6, 2003. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Williams and carried by a unanimous roll call vote (Mr. Salters absent).

Several members relayed their gratitude to Ms. Dawn Melson for the excellent job she performed serving as Interim City Planner.

Mr. Speed moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Pitts and unanimously carried.
