There were no changes to the agenda as submitted.

ONE-WAY STREETS IN DOWNTOWN AREA - ROBBINS HOSE COMPANY

As requested, Fire Chief Hurley of the Robbins Hose Company, submitted a letter outlining his request to modify Governors Avenue one-way south and State Street one-way north from Walker Road to Wyoming Avenue. Chief Hurley gave a brief explanation of his request, stating that one-way streets will make response from the fire department safer and faster.

Responding to Mr. VanSant, Chief Hurley stated that one-way streets were in effect in past years, but was changed due to complaints by merchants in the affected areas.

Chief Hutchison stated that Mr. Pusey of the State Highway Department indicated that during the recent traffic study, that as the City continues to grow, a change in traffic flow will be needed in the future to accommodate increased traffic in the downtown area. Chief Hutchison concurred with the study and further stated that the traffic flow in downtown Dover does not warrant a change at this time, although changes may be needed in the future.

Mr. Christiansen moved to recommend that the comments and recommendations of Police Chief Hutchison and Fire Chief Hurley be taken into consideration and that Chief Hurley's concerns continue to be reviewed and implemented at such time as Council deems necessary, seconded by Mr. Levitt and unanimously carried.

Mr. Levitt moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Christiansen and unanimously carried.
