SPECIAL MEETING
October 21, 1965
A Special Meeting of City Council was held Thursday, October 21, 1965 at 2:15 P.M. with Mayor Carroll presiding. Councilmen present were Messrs. Biggs, Hayes, Hughes, Massey, Smith and Walls.
The meeting was called for the purpose of considering a request from Delaware Home Builders Corporation to rezone a 5.378 acre tract in Section 2a of the Towne Point development from R-8 to RG-2. A public hearing is required prior to any change in the zoning ordinance or zoning map.
On motion of Mr. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Massey, Council by unanimous vote adopted the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION SETTING FOR TIME AND PLACE FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING MAP AND DIRECTING THAT A NOTICE OF SAID HEARING BE PUBLISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE DELAWARE CODE.
WHEREAS, a certain area containing 5.378 acres in Section 2-A of the Towne Point development is presently zoned for R-8 use, and
WHEREAS, a request has been received to change the zone designation from R-8 to RG-2 use, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing is required prior to amending the Zoning Ordinance or Zoning Map of the City of Dover,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOVER IN COUNCIL MET:
1. That a public hearing be held at City Hall at 8:00 P.M. on November 8, 1965 on a proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance and zoning map of the City of Dover which would change from R-8 use to RG-2 use 5.378 acres in Section 2-A of the Towne Point development, bounded on the north by lands of T.D. Gruwell, on the west by the proposed site for an elementary school, on the south by an extension of Miller Drive and on the east by an extension of Nimitz Road and other lands of Delaware Home Builders Corporation.
2. That notice of the public hearing be given in accordance with the provisions of the Delaware Code.
Adopted October 21, 1965.
