SPECIAL MEETING

June 20, 1962

A special meeting of City Council, acting as the LPA for Urban Renewal, was held Wednesday, June 20, 1962 at 9 P.M. at City Hall, with Mayor Carroll presiding. Councilmen present were Messrs Hayes, Hill, Holpp, Hughes, Mowlds, Walls and Zartman.

The LPA considered the adoption of a resolution requesting a 60 day extension to September 1, 1962 of the planning period for the period for the project report for the Urban Renewal Project, Dover Green-West.

On motion of Mr. Mowlds, seconded Mr. Hughes, the following resolution was adopted by vote of 7 to 0, Mr. Turner being absent.

RESOLUTION ON EXTENSION OF PLANNING PERIOD.

WHEREAS, the City of Dover had been engaged in preparation of the Final Project Report for Urban Renewal Project Dover Green West, No. Del. R-2, and

WHEREAS, the filing date for the said Final Project Report is presently established as July 1, 1962, and

WHEREAS, a Public Meeting was held on May 24, 1962 to acquaint the residents of Dover with the provisions of the proposed Urban Renewal Plan and to ascertain their reactions to said plan, and

WHEREAS, as a result of the Public Meeting and the opinions and desires expressed thereat, certain changes in the Renewal Plan seen desirable in order that the Renewal Program may better meet the needs of the City of Dover, and

WHEREAS, the additional work to make the necessary changes will require more time than the deadline date of July 1, 1962 will allow, and

WHEREAS, it is the intention of the L.P.A. to file te Final Project Report as soon as the changes are made,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By The City of Dover (L.P.A.) that the Director of Redevelopment be instructed to request a further extension of the Planning Period to September 1, 1962.
