SPECIAL MEETING
November 26, 1956
The special meeting of City Council was held Monday, November 26, 1956, at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Haman presiding. Councilmen present were Messrs Biddle, Davis, Hayes, Holpp, Mundy, Petty, Tischer and Zartman.
MINUTES
Minutes of the meeting of November 12 were accepted as read.
REPORTS
Report of Budget Expenditures for October were accepted as read.
BOND FUND EARNINGS
On motion of Mr. Petty, seconded by Mr. Holpp, Council authorized transfer to the General Fund from the 1953 and 1955 Bond Funds of all monies received as premiums or as earnings from investments, to reimburse the General fund for interest payments on the Bonds.
ANNEXATION
Council discussed the results to date of a survey to determine the sentiment of residents of the Morris Estates area towards annexation by the City of Dover. Mr. Davis made the following motion, seconded by Mr. Zartman:
Whereas many of the residents and taxpayers of Morris Estates #1 and #2 and Roosevelt Avenue and nearby areas have indicated a desire for more detailed information on the proposed annexation of that area to the City pf Dover; and
Whereas one idea that has been proposed it that a public meeting be held to discuss the questions involved in annexation;
It is therefore moved that, if such a public meeting shall be arranged for City officers and employees familiar with problems involved to attend the said meeting and provide such information and answers as shall be available.
The motion was passed unanimously.
SOLICITOR REPORT
City Solicitor Hughes reported on the status of the Ehrlich tax case and the Garden Court suit.
