SPECIAL MEETING

July 24, 1950

A special meeting of City Council was held on Monday, July 24, 1950 at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Storey presiding. Members present were Councilmen Carroll, Culver, Petty and Wilson.

LIBERTY BELL

Representatives of the Friends of Old Dover and of the American Legion were present to discuss the location of the replica of the Liberty Bell. Various suggestions were offered but no location was decided upon. The Friends of Old Dover will contact the Governor about locating the Bell on State-owned land.

ERECTION OF FLAG POLE

Council authorized the American Legion to erect a 21' flagpole on the Memorial Plot near the Hotel Richardson. The final setting of the pole will be subject to approval by the City Manager.

Council adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
