SPECIAL MEETING

April 24, 1950

A Special Meeting of City Council convened on April 24, 1950 at 7:45 P.M. with Mayor Storey presiding. Councilmen Carroll, Culver, Mikell, Petty, Smith and Wilson were present.

STREET LIGHTS

Representatives of each of three street light manufacturers appeared before Council and discussed the relative merits of their street lighting products.

Mr. Werner and Mr. Harvey represented the Westinghouse Corporation. Mr. Werner discussed at length the Westinghouse porcelain open type receptacles, and also the merits of mercury vapor street lighting.

Mr. Eddy and Mr. Bender represented the General Electric Corporation. Mr. Eddy discussed General Electric’s aluminum open type receptacles, and also discussed their glass luminaire fixtures.

Mr. Peterson and Mr. Fandler represented the Line Material Company. They described Line Materials stainless steel open type receptacles.

The above representatives answered many questions from the Mayor and Council concerning their various products.

Council adjourned at 10:55 P.M.
