SPECIAL MEETING
September 29, 1947
A special meeting convened at 7:40 P.M. on September 29, 1947, with Mayor Woodford presiding. Members present were: Mrs. Frear, Messrs. Keith, Vane, Carson, Wright, Mikell, Burton. Also present were City Solicitor Hopkins and Acting City Manager Brown.
Mr. Brown read a letter from Mack & Company, auditors, concerning a preliminary report of the annual audit. A copy of this letter is here to attached. A general discussion followed covering the subject matter of this letter. It was moved by Mr. Carson and seconded by Mr. Burton that the Acting City Manager immediately enforced items #1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the precautionary steps outlined by Mack & Company.
The Acting City Manager was directed to notify the bonding company of the discrepancies brought out by the above mentioned letter.
It was moved by Mr. Wright and seconded by Mr. Carson that Mack & Company be engaged to continue the audit through October 2, 1947.
It was moved by Mr. Carson and seconded by Mr. Wright to authorize the Acting City Manager to cover all clerks in the City Office by bond for a sum on which the Acting City Manager would decide.
It was moved by Mr. Carson and seconded by Mr. Wright to adjourn at 9:15 P.M.
