SPECIAL MEETING

A special meeting of City Council was held in City Hall on Monday evening, June 2, at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Woodford presiding. The following members were present: Messrs. Keith, Hartnett, Vane, Carson and Mikell.

Steam – Latex Corporation

The City Manager reported that he had received a letter from the Latex Corporation estimating the steam requirements for the next five months. He stated that he had replied to Latex and had sent a copy of his letter to each member of Council. He also stated that he had been in touch with Mr. Stevens of Westinghouse and had found out that the steam requirements for Latex could be taken car of by installing another steam header which would supply steam direct to Latex. If this work were done by the Dravo Corporation who would furnish all materials, the job would be $5000; or, if the work were done by the B. F. Shaw Company with the City furnishing the pipe, the job would $3000. Upon motion of Mr. Hartnett, seconded by Mr. Carson, the City Manager was authorized to have this header installed at a cost not to exceed $3000, and to give the Latex request for the City of Dover to furnish them with a maximum of 15,000 lbs. of steam further study.

Council adjourned at 9:40 P.M.
