SPECIAL MEETING

                                                                                                                        January 25, 1946

A special meeting of City Council was held in City Hall on Friday, January 25, at 7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Woodford and the following members were present: Messrs. Keith, Vane, Burton, Hartnett, Hinkle and Carson.

LIGHTING BASEBALL PARK

The City Manager, Mr. Wilcox, reported that baseball enthusiasts around the City felt that the City should install a better lighting system. The system that was used in the Wilmington park was for sale at $20.00 per unit. Since Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Pennock of the Phillies also felt that a different system giving more light should be used, the question of buying the lights now in use at the Wilmington park was discussed. After a lengthy discussion, upon motion of Mr. Carson, seconded by Hartnett, the City Manager was instructed to purchase as many of the lights from Wilmington as are needed to adequately light the Dover Park and to dispose of our lights for the best price obtainable.

Council adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
