REGULAR MEETING

September 11, 1944

The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 11^th day of September, 1944. The Meeting was called to order by Vice Mayor LeFevre, and on roll call the following members answered “Present”: Messrs. Keith, Burton Vane and Hinkle.

Minutes

Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton, the reading of the minutes of the last regular and special meetings of the City Council was dispensed with.

City Manager’s Report

            The City Manager’s Report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton.

Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton, the City Manager was authorized to contact the authorities of the Dover Army Air Base and see if they can arrive at some satisfactory arrangement in order to dispose of trash and garbage at some other place rather than our Sewage Disposal Plant.

Alderman’s Report

The Alderman’s Report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hinkle.

A check amounting to $391.15 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of 28 arrests.

Police Report

The monthly report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Vane.

Increase In Salary

Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Vane, the City Manager was authorized to increase the salary of Paul Keith from $35.50 per week to $40.00 per week. This increase being recommended by the City Manager due to the method in which Mr. Keith was conducting his part of the business and to his eleven years service with the City.
