REGULAR MEETING
January 13, 1941
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 13th day of January, 1941. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. with Mayor Woodford presiding, and on roll call the following members answered “Present”: Messrs. LeFevre, Downes, Keith, Millman, Burton, Hinkle and Vane.
MINUTES
Upon motion of Messrs. Vane and Hinkle, the minutes of the last regular and special meetings was dispensed with.
CITY MANAGER’S REPORT
The City Manager’s report for the month of December was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hinkle.
FINANCIAL REPORT
The financial report for the month of December was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle.
ALDERMAN’S REPORT
The Alderman’s report for the month of December was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton. a check amounting to $11.00 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of one arrest.
POLICE REPORT
The monthly and annual reports of the Chief of Police were read and approved upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hinkle.
REPORT OF THE CITY BOARD OF HEALTH
The semi-annual report of the City Board of Health was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Keith.
FIRE CHIEF’S REPORT
The annual report of the Chief of the Robbins Hose Company was read and approved upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hinkle.
Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Hinkle, the City Council voted to give a dinner to the members of the Robbins Hose Company in appreciation of the valuable services to the community. The Mayor was authorized to make the necessary arrangements and to set the date.
CITY ELECTION
Messrs. Keith and Vane were appointed by Mayor Woodford to hold the regular annual municipal election on Monday, January 20th, 1941, from 1 to 4 P. M. in the City Hall.
AMENDMENTS TO ORDINANCE
The following amendments to “AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE HEALTH QUALIFICATIONS OF EMPLOYEES OF EATING ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE CITY OF DOVER AND TO THE SANITARY CONDITIONS OF SUCH ESTABLISHMENTS” were presented to the City and were adopted upon the following vote:
Messrs. Keith, yes;
Downes, yes;
Burton, yes;
LeFevre, yes;
Vane, yes;
Hinkle, yes;
and Millman, yes.
Paragraph 3, Section 1. “The certificate required in this section shall be and remain in force and effect for a term of six (6) months next after the date of issuance, and no longer, and it shall be the duty of the holder of such certificate to secure a renewal thereof before the expiration of the term of the certificate currently in force and effect.
The term “food” as used in this ordinance shall mean all articles used for food, drink, confectionary or condiment by man, whether mixed or compounded.”
