ADJOURNED MEETING
December 29th, 1939
The Adjourned meeting from December 11th of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Woodford at 7:30 P.M. and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. Millman, Vane, Hinkle, Keith, Frear and Burton.
CITY MANAGER’S REPORT
The City Manager’s report for the month of November was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Vane and Keith.
FINANCIAL REPORT
The financial report for the month of November was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton.
ALDERMAN’S REPORT
The Alderman’s report for the month of November was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hinkle. A check amounting to $21.00 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of five arrests.
POLICE REPORT
The report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Millman and Keith.
PURCHASE OF GAS PLANT
The matter of the City of Dover puchasing the gas plant from the Eastern Shore Public Service Company was discussed by the City Council, and upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Vane, the Council voted that the Mayor should notify the owners of this plant that the City of Dover was not interested in the purchase of same.
AUTHORITY FOR PAYROLL CHECKS
Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Keith, the Council authorized the City Clerk to draw all payroll checks to the order of “JOSEPH O. WILLIS, CITY CLERK” so that same could be cashed for the proper distribution.
