SPECIAL MEETING
June 20th, 1939
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 20th day of June, 1939, at 2 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Woodford and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. Downes, Frear, Keith, Vane and Millman.
PURPOSE OF MEETING
The purpose of this meeting was to adopt new electric rates for the City of Dover. Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Keith, the following electric rate schedule was adopted to take effect July 1st, 1939:
CITY RATES
Combined electric cooking, refrigeration and lighting rate:
First 50 KW @--------7¢
Next 150 KW @-------3¢ Minimum charge $2.00/
Over 200 KW @-------3¢
Combined electric refrigeration and lighting rate:
First 30 KW @-------7¢
Next 60 KW @-------5¢ Minimum charge $1.50
Over 90 KW @-------3¢
Commercial rate:
First 100 KW @-------7¢
Next 500 KW @-------5¢
Over 600 KW @-------3¢
Power rate:
First 500 KW @-------4¢
Next 1500 KW @-------3¢ Minimum charge of $1.00 per HP,
Over 2000 KW @-------2 ½ ¢ connected.
Sign and Window rates:
1¢ per watt per month from dark until midnight
on time switch. Special application and inspec-
tion is required on this rate.
Water Heater rate:
1¢ per KW off peak load, from 9 P.M. to 7 A.M. Minimum charge $2.00.

Next 150 KW @-------3¢ Minimum charge $2.00
Over 200 KW @-------2¢

Next 60 KW @-------6¢ Minimum charge $1.50

Upon Motion of Messrs. Frear and Millman, the City Manager was instructed to waive all demand charges on church motor power.
ASSESSOR’S SALARY
Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Frear, the City Clerk was instructed to draw an order on the treasurer for the annual salary of the City Assessor amounting to $300.00
PURCHASE OF FLAG POLE
Upon motion of Messrs. Frear and Downes, the City Manager was authorized to purchase a flag pole to be installed on the grounds of the City Hall.
Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Keith, the City Manager was instructed to notify the McCrory Stores Company to maintain the present building line on Minor Street. This line has been established for long years and the City Council can not permit a 10-inch extension beyond the other buildings.
