SPECIAL MEETING

                                                                                                August 17th, 1938

            A special meeting of the City Council of he City of Dover was held on the 17th day of August, 1938. The meeting was called to order at 11:30 A. M. by Mayor Woodford and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. LeFevre, Downes, Millman, Keith, Frear, Burton, Hinkle and Vane.

RESOLUTION

            The following resolution was adopted upon motion of Mr. LeFevre and seconded by Mr. Burton:

APPROVAL OF DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS

                        WHEREAS, after due review and consideration by the City Manager, Mayor and Council of the City of Dover, Delaware, of the drawings, specifications and contract documents for the construction of sanitary sewers at Dover, Delaware, (P.W.A. Docket Del. 1023-F) it appears that the said drawings, specifications and contract documents are satisfactory and acceptable.

                        NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Dover, Delaware, that the drawings prepared by Albright & Friel, Inc., Consulting Engineers, numbered 38045-1 to 38045-5 inclusive and the specifications and contract documents prepared by the same firm, be an are hereby approved.

AUTHORIZATION FOR BORROWING $25,000.

 

            Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Downes, the City Council authorized the proper officers to negotiate a loan with the Farmers Bank of the State of Delaware to borrow an amount of money not exceeding Twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for the purpose of depositing their share of the money needed to install sanitary sewers in the Tar Ditch section, the balance of this money to be provided by the United States Government with PWA funds.

COMMITTEES

            Mr. Smith Johnson appeared before Council asking that Bank Lane be opened and extended form New Street west to the Railroad Avenue. Upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Burton, the City Manager was authorized to open Bank Lane from New Street to Railroad Avenue, providing there would be no costs to the City for the right-of-ways.

ADJOURNMENT

            Council adjourned at 12:15 P. M.
