REGULAR MEETING

                                                                                                            January 10th, 1938

            The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 10th day of January, 1938. The meeting was called to order by Vice-Mayor Frear and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. Downes, LeFevre, Millman, Keith, Burton, Hinkle and Vane.

MINUTES

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Keith, the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

            The City Manager’s report for the month of December was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Downes.

 

            Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Hinkle the City Solicitor was instructed to draw an ordinance prohibiting parking on Minor Street and present it to Council at their next regular meeting.

            Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Downes the City Manager was authorized and directed to take the matter up with the CCC Camp or WPA to clean out the ditches west of the railroad and the upper end of Silver Lake.

FINANCIAL REPORT

            The financial report for the month of December was read by the Clerk and accepted and approved upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Burton.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

            The Alderman’s report for the month of December was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle. A check amounting to $68.00 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of 11 arrests.

POLICE REPORT

            The report of the Chief of police was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Burton. Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton a vote of appreciation was recorded to the Chief of Police for the fine manner in which he presented his annual report.

 

CITY ELECTION

            Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Downes the City instructed the City Clerk and two members of the Council, Messrs. Millman and Frear, to hold an annual City election in the City Hall from one to four o’clock P. M. on Monday, December 17th, 1938.

ADJOURNMENT

            Council adjourned at 8:20 P. M.
